Are you a newcomer wanting to know more people? Are you looking to connect with a group of people for support, encouragement and friendship? Are you, longing for growth as a Christian? Then a small group is for you.

Small Groups Help to ground you in your walk with Christ, enable you to plug into a large church like ours, help you study the Bible and learn to pray, provide a safe place for you to develop relationships. If you’re not in a small group you don’t know what you’re missing!

What is a small group for?

A small group is an opportunity to belong in a large church. Everyone has a need to belong and small groups in our church enable us to build relationships with a smaller group of people while still being part of the larger Sydenham Baptist Church family. Most of our small groups meet in homes located in the surrounding suburbs. With women’s groups, men’s groups, mixed groups, youth groups, evening and day groups, there is a wide variety of groups from which to choose.

What does a small group do?

Each small group is unique and has a life of its own, but all small groups offer each person the opportunity to grow into the person God created them to be. Joining a small group will give you the opportunity to grow closer to God, grow closer to others, grow in faith, create opportunities to give others a helping hand and provide a safe place for your friends to think about the Christian faith. Carry each other’s burdens and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.
