History of Sydenham Baptist ChurchSydenham Baptist Church had its beginnings as a church plant in the Keilor area in 1985.The Aberfeldie Baptist Church, in partnership with the Baptist Union of Victoria, identified the need to plant a church in the growing north-western area of Melbourne. On 1 May 1985, an interest meeting was held at the home of Bob and Nancy Hayes that led to the establishment of the Church fellowship. On 16 February 1986, the fellowship held its first Service at the Keilor Downs College. On 13 September 1987, the fellowship was formally constituted as the Keilor Baptist Church. After meeting at Keilor Downs College for 14 years, the Church opened its new building at 350 Calder Park Drive, Sydenham in May 2000. Following its relocation, the Church changed its name to Sydenham Baptist Church in July 2002
